The default sensitivity threshold is written to a device during commissioning, when the TraX mobile app establishes a Bluetooth connection with the device.
The default sensitivity value is 400. This value can be overridden by applying a configuration profile, provided the required criteria are met.
Custom sensitivity options
Sensitivity settings depend on the vehicle type and axle configuration:
- Vehicles with both driven and non-driven axles (for example, trucks) can be configured with two different sensitivity thresholds:
- One threshold for devices connected to driven axles
- One threshold for devices connected to non-driven axles
- Trailers, which typically only have non-driven axles, use a single sensitivity threshold for all connected devices.
Setting up the vehicle axle configuration
The vehicle’s axle configuration is defined in the TraX mobile app during initial setup. This step must be completed before any devices are commissioned.
Once the axle configuration has been set and devices have been commissioned, the configuration cannot be modified.
To change the axle configuration:
- Decommission all devices.
- Remove the vehicle from the app.
- Add the vehicle again with the updated axle configuration.
Configuration profiles
Several profile types are available to support different sensitivity requirements:
- All axles profiles: Applies the same custom sensitivity threshold to both driven and non-driven axles.
- Driven axle only profiles: Applies a custom sensitivity threshold to driven axles only. Non-driven axles remain at the default value (400).
- Non-driven axle only profiles: Applies a custom sensitivity threshold to non-driven axles only. Driven axles remain at the default value (400).
- Mixed profiles: Applies different custom sensitivity thresholds to driven and non-driven axles.
Available profiles
| No. | Profile ID | Profile Type | Sensitivity Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | all_high | All axles | 450 |
| 2 | all_very_high | All axles | 500 |
| 3 | drive_high | Driven axle only | 450 |
| 4 | drive_very_high | Driven axle only | 500 |
| 5 | non_drive_high | Non-driven axle only | 450 |
| 6 | non_drive_very_high | Non-driven axle only | 500 |
| 7 | mixed_very_high_high | Mixed | Driven: 500 Non-driven: 450 |
Applying a configuration profile
The Brand/Make and Model fields (vehicle information fields) are used to assign a specific sensitivity profile to a vehicle. These fields are intended for configuration purposes and are not visible to end users in the TraX mobile app.
Applying a custom sensitivity threshold requires the device to be recommissioned. You may choose to recommission only the devices that require a higher sensitivity. Devices that are not recommissioned will continue operating with the default value (400). If these devices are later replaced and commissioned again, the selected sensitivity profile will automatically be applied.
Example
For a trailer with non-driven axles that requires a higher sensitivity threshold, apply configuration profile no. 6 (non_drive_very_high):
- Locate the vehicle in the TSP's platform UI.
- Set Brand/Make to:
trax - Set Model to:
non_drive_very_high - Recommission the device(s).
Checking a device’s active sensitivity
A device’s current sensitivity threshold is not visible in the TSP interface or in the standard TraX mobile app UI.
However, the active threshold can be retrieved using the TraX Android app when a Bluetooth connection is established. This is done by creating a support case through the app and reviewing the attached log file.
This functionality is intended for support purposes only and is not available to end users.
