This article answers common questions related to the TraX mobile application, including access, commissioning, connectivity, and firmware updates.
Where can TraX applications be found?
The TraX application is available on:
- Google Play (Android)
- Apple App Store (iOS)
Can I use the TraX mobile application to retrieve device data?
Yes. The TraX mobile app displays the latest device data shared by the TSP with SKF, as described in the Device Data Integration article.
When connected to a device, you can also use the app to actively read and retrieve device data.
For day-to-day operations, however, the TSP remains responsible for collecting, presenting, and notifying customers about device data.
Who can manage devices using the TraX application?
Users from fleet owner organizations or authorized third parties (such as repair shops) who need to manage TraX devices must have an SKF platform account within a company that has been granted access by the TSP to the relevant fleet(s).
Access is controlled by the TSP, which authorizes specific companies to manage designated fleets.
I’ve activated a TraX device, but my Android phone can’t find it. What should I do?
If you are using an older Android version, ensure that Location Services are enabled on your phone. BLE scanning may require location access depending on the Android version.
Why do I see the message “Device in use” during commissioning?
The message “Device in use” indicates that the device is still commissioned on another wheel, vehicle, or fleet.
To resolve this:
- Decommission the device from its previous location.
If the device has already been decommissioned but the issue persists:
- Create a support case from the mobile application.
How do I find a vehicle in the TraX mobile application?
To search for a vehicle in the TraX mobile app, the TSP must first complete the Vehicle Store Integration.
Once completed, vehicles can be searched using:
- The vehicle name (as defined in the TSP platform), or
- The vehicle VIN
Enter the full or partial name or VIN (min 4 characters) in the search field to display matching vehicles.
Is it obligatory to update device firmware?
Firmware updates are not mandatory but are strongly recommended when available.
How do I know that a device has been properly commissioned?
A properly commissioned device will appear in the TraX mobile application under the correct vehicle, side, and axle where it was installed.
